Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
--2 Corinthians 9:15
The mercies of Christ are astounding, and daily over the past month I have been reminded of it. In the midst of a great weight of sadness that had threatened to overtake me, he has given me an "unspeakable gift," something so blessed and precious that I fear to hold it lest it shatter in my hands. As a slowly unfolding flower, this gift reveals more of itself with the passing of time, and each stage brings with it a more exquisite beauty. I pray only for the strength and wisdom to guide and protect that beauty, to provide a safe haven in which it can fully develop and blossom. At this great gift God has given me I can only wonder, and but share this testimony: that faith is rewarded and that God desires to give good gifts to his children.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. --Jeremiah 29:11-13

ReplyDeleteWhen the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream . Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity , O LORD, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth , bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
